Bent Prop Award

The annual E.R. Chenette Bent Prop Award is a distinguished award presented at the Change of Watch ceremony. Members compete all year to see who will win it.

First awarded in 1979 to member Jeff McMeekin, many distinguished members have been recipients of this coveted award. It is given annually to the member that has the most distinguished boating adventure, or shall we say, mishap.

2009 Mutiner on the Santa Fe (15' Mutineer Sailboat)

Bob and friend were minding their own business sailing a 15’ Mutineer sailboat on Lake Santa Fe.
While minding their own business, a sudden gust of wind came along and the next thing Bob & friend knew his boat was upside down.
The gust of wind cost Bob $300 of stuff and the cost to repair one boat motor.
He and friend were saved by…..power boats.
